Animal rights

The Editor,
I am writing this message as a short term visitor to St. Lucia, because I am feeling bad for the beautiful free animals, how they get killed by cars every day. I wish that when you read it you also help these animals, to keep them happy free and not die.. Please ask the government to force the drivers, by a law, to slow down their car speed. Thank you. A beautiful smart cat was killed on the St. Jude highway in Vieux Fort by a car. He was yesterday alive and happy, giving us love and we loved him. Today he is dead, and twice dead, because another car hit him again and in front of his owner. Isn`t that pain for a nice island but doesn`t show respect for animals. Humans fight for their rights, because we are able to talk, but who will fight for animal rights?

Is there anybody to tell the drivers to slow down and give respect to others, or you’d have to pay a fine or be punished???. A beautiful island famous for its nature, animals, plants but you see dogs, cats, birds, frogs, killed every day lying on the streets with no sympathy because the drivers make fun when they kill animals. Can you imagine every day how many animal die and are killed on the streets because of no speed laws?. All the world looks for the rights of animals. I am wondering whether St. Lucia would put a law on drivers at least to stop the killing of animals. Thank you.
