The Saint Lucia National Youth Council wishes to congratulate the newly formed executive of the Castries East Youth & Sports Council.

The elections were conducted on Wednesday, January 31st, 2012 at the Entrepot Secondary School. A number of interested persons gathered in the hall in a bid to become part of the revamped group that will act as the official voice for the young people of the aforesaid region.
The members are as follows:
• President – Kelvin Antoine
• 1st Vice President – Nigel Joseph
• 2nd Vice President – Barry George
• General Secretary – Andrea Leon-Thomas
• Assistant General Secretary –Stephen Paul
• Treasurer – Alicia Phillip
• Public Relations Officer – Wendell Bertrande

 
 

As the umbrella organization for all youth and sports councils in St. Lucia, the NYC pledges its full support to this new executive and will work diligently toward fostering the collaboration and synergies necessary to target and positively impact the lives of all and sundry.

Special thanks ought to be given to Minister for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Shawn Edward for realizing the need to establish and/or strengthen the youth structures around the country as well as Youth Officer Sara Lee Williams for her effort in ensuring this policy direction was materialized.
Additionally, we would like to thank the Parliamentary Representative for Castries East, the Hon. Philip J Pierre who gave this initiative his blessing and promised to collaborate with the executive towards the establishment of programmes for the constituency.
