NWU/WINFRESH
Collision Course
THE
EDITOR,
An industrial row is brewing between the management
of WINFRESH Ltd and the National Workers’
Union.
Late December 2009 two workers employed with
the company had their services suspended for
alleged mis-conduct at a staff party hosted
by the company in December of 2009. The workers
were suspended for one (1) month without pay.
The NWU contends that a copy of the suspended
letters was not sent to the NWU and that the
employees were off duty at the time.
The NWU has since met the company officials
requesting a withdrawal of the suspended letters
and that the employees should be paid for the
period. The company has refused.
A general meeting of WINFRESH employees is being
called at which workers will decide the way
forward.
