Toyota pays
the price of success
We
have attentively followed the allegations levelled
against Toyota in respect to a discrepancy with
the acceleration peddle of a particular model.
Hardly anyone would disagree with the authorities
responsible for this kind of oversight, but
we are alarmed over the extensive media coverage
directed against Toyota. To date, there has
only been 124 complaints in comparison to the
vast number of those vehicles on the road.
Toyota produces one of the very best vehicles
on the market and is known to be a responsible
manufacturer at home and abroad and without
any doubt whatsoever, the company will never
allow its impeccable image to be tarnished.
In all of the company’s years in business,
we don’t recall any major issues and we
are simply horrified at the level of negative
publicity which has taken place to date.
Over the years, we have witnessed umpteen recalls
by both US and European manufacturers but nothing
like the ongoing media intensity which has been
levelled towards Toyota. A careful analysis
of this situation tells how intrusive investigations
can reach against successful organisations and
individuals.
