A well - written Book

THE EDITOR,
In the Voice Newspaper dated January 30, 2010. I read with interest the Article entitled Saint Lucia’s New Novelist by Mr. Jacques Compton, in which he gave a summary of the book. “In Pursuit of Running Water ,” written by Mr. Cornell Charles.

I want in this letter to express the moral lesson. I understood, after reading this book.
Everyone can identify in someway or another with this well written book.
It encompasses most of life’s activities e.g. Food Vending, Alcoholic Sale and Consumption, Restaurant Service, Real Estate, Subsistence Farming, Immigration for a Better Way of Life, Tourism, Marriage, Crime, Prayer Intervention, Satanic Forces, Death.
He shows in his book that in life we are all on a journey, and climbing the mountain, was the challenge.
We experience all kinds of perils, trials, ruggedness and detours on that journey. We sometimes have a feeling of being nowhere and that God has abandoned us, as Gallegos experienced in being in an abyss, with a feeling of torture and pain.

In our hopelessness and despair however, we continue in our strides to persevere in our vision to reach the top of the mountain, even if it involves paying for road works to make the climb easier.
With prayer intervention, he shows that the satanic forces that challenge us to give up our quest for forward movement, fulfillment and reaching our goal, we discover Divine Intervention and finds as he portrays in his book, gushes of clean, clear, fresh, running water on the mountain, which epitomizes Our Lord and Saviour, who says to us in John Chapter 4 verse 14. “But whoever drinks the water I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring which will provide him with life giving water and give him eternal life.”
‘In Pursuit Of Running Water’ is finding our destiny – JESUS CHRIST.

Adalyn Leonce (Mrs.)
