Digicel meets the Bolt Family

Digicel representatives were on hand at Hewanorra International Airport on Thursday August 28th, 2008 to welcome members of Usain Bolt’s family. The Bolt family, who were unable to land in Jamaica due to weather conditions landed here in St. Lucia where they were warmly welcomed by Digicel representatives.
The Bolt family who comprised Mrs. Bolt (his mother), Mr. Peart (Manager) and Bolt’s girlfriend were treated to a site visit by Digicel representatives, to the Sulphur Springs and Pitons. They were also treated to lunch at the Stonefield Restaurant in Soufriere.
Usain Bolt who is now the world’s fastest man, lowered his own record to 9.69 seconds in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 100metre race and also broke the record in the 200metre race.

Bolt also ran the third leg of the Jamaican 4 x 100metre relay who brought home the gold.
According to Digicel’s Country Manager Keigan Cox, “Digicel is excited to have been able to provide high class hospitality to the Bolt family. Digicel will also continue to extend its support to prestigious athletes like Bolt locally, regionally and internationally.”
