Clinton/Obama battle may usher McCain to the White House
By Michael Chastanet

By all intent and purpose, it may not be possible for Obama nor Clinton to achieve the 2025 electoral votes to clinch the Democratic nomination, therefore, the final decision may be at the discretion of the Super Delegates.
This is a very precarious situation as few political parties in the past half century have had to resort to such a tight political divide. No matter how careful situations like these are strategized, there are always situations which arise that permit technocrats to become involved above and beyond direct democratic principles and unfortunately it is those decisions which bring about frustration and lack of faith in the system.
What better example can we address than in the year 2000 when the popular vote went to Al Gore and the Supreme Court installed under the Republican Administration arbitrarily called a halt to the recount in Florida. The US public had spoken, yet their total franchise failed to dictate their wishes. George Bush waltzed into the White House and today both America and the US public cannot wait to witness the departure of an administration which brought about disdain, chaos and total lack of confidence by way of a weak dollar and massive job losses with no real indication of any planned strategy.

Despite these very unfortunate experiences and the fact that the Republican Party must bear full responsibility for the situation, John McCain at age 72 presently not in the best of health and one with a very short political fuse may very well be the next President of the United States by DEFAULT. Default precipitated by the popularity of two formidable candidates who have equally divided the democratic electorate but even more worrisome is the fact that if Clinton clinches the nomination, the young and African American voters could easily refrain from voting based on a subtle protest thereby allowing John McCain to slip through the net and become the boss.
Hopefully the hierarchy of the Democratic Party will have anticipated this criteria and taken the appropriate steps to deal with this sensitive and very strange type of situation, taking into account that McCain has been lobbying with the idea of having Condoleeza Rice as his Vice President. No wonder Hilary Clinton has also considered inviting Obama to be her Vice President but unfortunately Obama is more inclined to a reversed formula.
Hopefully the American public will be sufficiently mature and intelligent to view the state of the economy, the foreign policy of their country and the downside to these important issues which can severely affect the ability of the United States from extricating itself from a very difficult situation while China and India continue to claw their way into the economic era at a very steady pace.
