St. Jude Donation

Further to the devastation caused at the St Jude’s hospital in September 2009, the NCF set as an objective, to assist with the rebuilding efforts. To this end the NCF hosted a radio telethon and subsequently a fundraiser show on December 14 2009. The show featured performances from local artists including Kakal, Minelle, Shayne Ross and Che Campeche as the main act. On Thursday February 18, the NCF presented a cheque of $6,000.00 to the chairman of the Board of the St Jude hospital, Mr Percival Mc Donald to assist with rebuilding efforts.
The NCF wishes to extend its gratitude to the many partners who joined this effort to make such a donation possible.

 
 

These include: ECFH, Windward & Leeward Brewery, Ladera Resorts, Anse Chastanet Resorts, Shernell’s Pizza, Plante’s Place, Coconut Bay Resorts, Debbie’s Foods, Duboulay’s Bottling, Gourmet Express,SMJ Beverages, DBS, HTS, CHOICE TV, RSL, RCI, RHYTHM FM, HOT FM, WAVE, Think Caribbean Television, VOICE Newspaper, ECCO, South Shore Services, Options Designs, Webro Lights, Michel’s Electrical, Jeriko Sounds, St Lucia Environmental Company, Speed Printing, Fond D’or Development Committee and the Dennery Development Committee. The NCF also wishes to advise that the Telethon 2010, which is the largest fundraising event of the organization, will be held on April 25 at Samans Park. In an effort to increase public interest in this year’s telethon, the NCF has planned a fun run event which will serve as a precursor to Telethon 2010. This event will be held on March 14 under the theme “Kouwi Sent Lisi....for a Healthy Heart” and will be a collaborative venture with the Heart Lung and Blood Foundation and RISE St Lucia Inc. The National Community Foundation (NCF) is a philanthropic, non-profit organization which functions primarily as a grant making institution.
