In
tribute to Prof. Nettleford, the University
of the West Indies Open Campus St Lucia has
set up a small display at the Open Campus Library
and has made a condolence book available to
the public for signature. Her Excellency the
Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy was the
first to sign the book, referring to Prof. Nettleford
as she was followed by the Prime Minister, The
Honourable Speaker of the House and other members
of parliament.
Prof. Nettleford will be laid to rest in his
native Jamaica following a funeral service at
the University Chapel at the Mona Campus of
the University of the West Indies on Tuesday
February 16th, 2010.
Members of the public are encouraged to pay
tribute to this Caribbean giant, by signing
the condolence book which will be available
in St Lucia until February 23rd, 2010.
