The
Jamaica/St Lucia Community celebrates the Olympic successes
of the Caribbean

Members
of the The Jamaica/St Lucia Community could not celebrate
enough the victories of their Caribbean comrades at this year’s
Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Members, affectionately referred
to as “Friends in Helen”, gathered over a period
of a week to celebrate the successes of Caribbean athletes.
They met at Friends Cafe, in Vigie, over the 4 x 400 metre
Men and Women finals on the final day of the games and were
jubilant when Jamaican female athletes were rewarded with
a bronze medal for their efforts and once again at Pulse,
the popular night club in Rodney Bay on Saturday, August 30,
to revel in the achievements of the Caribbean athletes. Guests
on both occasions were exhorted to “wear their colours”
and many came resplendent in red, black and white (the colours
of the flag of Trinidad & Tobago) and green black and
gold (the colours of the Jamaican flag). |
