First
Caribbean Retail Banking Upsizes Loans Saturdays
Education
in the effective use of loan financing is critical in today’s
competitive environment, and St. Lucians took advantage of
the opportunity which was accorded them at FirstCaribbean
International Bank’s 2008 Loans Fair and Expo, last
Saturday, March 1st, at Samaans Park.
The flagship lending event which opened to the public from
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. has been one of FirstCaribbean’s
largest, and follows on a successful first expo in 2007. Last
week’s event introduced St. Lucian homeowners and potential
real estate owners to a wide range of products and services
inclusive of real estate, home building, furnishings, protection
and educational seminars.
One in the line of business efforts by First Caribbean’s
Retail Banking, the Home Expo is designed to help potential
and existing customers along the path of achieving important
life goals.
Associate Director – Retail/Sales, Mr. Andy Delmar reported
that the bank’s expectations were exceeded as we were
able to start over 100 St. Lucians on the way to home ownership
on that day.
“St. Lucians want that autonomy in their lives. The
important considerations for them are where to place their
priorities, and how to analyse the real costs and processes
of achieving this autonomy.
Consistent
with our Helpful partner ethic, we as a bank, demonstrate
that our interest is to help them get there.”
Through a special daytime customer education series, exhibition
visitors benefited from lectures on such themes as homebuilding
and buying, getting out of debt, personal financial management,
and how to navigate important financial processes.
“This element of the Expo is important in demonstrating
that FirstCaribbean International Bank is a trusted and reliable
financial partner. Even in the consolidation of effort with
other service providers the bank is attempting to promote
the value in strategic partnership as business seek to strategically
navigate the terrain of a marketplace that is ever changing.”
Said Country Manager, Mauricia Thomas -Francis.
FirstCaribbean’s team of financing professionals were
also on hand to facilitate on-the-spot loan signups, responding
to customers’ concerns and queries.
The bank reports that in addition to mortgage loans, other
banking products were well received and sold, such as the
Registered Retirement Savings Plan and the FirstHome Savings
Plan.
FirstCaribbean credits its several business partners for facilitating
a meaningful visitor experience, in particular Gold Partners
Courts (St. Lucia) Ltd and Cable & Wireless.
The Exposition is intended to be an annual feature in which
FirstCaribbean will bring the bank and its cutting edge technology
to the people.
