LUCELEC Celebrates Excellence
Staff Appreciation Night Scheduled for Tonight

The St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) will host its Annual Staff Appreciation Awards Dinner Tonight. More than 70 awards will be distributed at the event to be held at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay.
The Awards are a form of honouring staff for their efforts over the past year. Among the awards to be presented are: the Length of Service Award (this year for employees who have given more than 20 years of service), the Retirees Award for staff who retired during the past year, the Perfect Attendance Award for employees with no absences recorded for 2007, and the Employee of the Quarter Award for one person from each department who was selected as the outstanding employee for each quarter of 2007. There will also be awards for the Department of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year.

This year’s Staff Appreciation Awards Dinner is being held under the theme “Raising the Bar”. Chairperson of the Staff Appreciation Committee Toya Compton says the theme reflects LUCELEC’s commitment to improving the Company’s performance each year and its never-ending search to find new ways of rewarding its staff and showing them how much they are valued.
Managing Director Trevor Louisy says the Staff Appreciation Awards Dinner is extremely important to LUCELEC. He believes that the spirit of the Company is in its people. “People are in fact, the fabric that holds any organization together, and the more they are nurtured, trained, valued, retained, included, consulted, and rewarded, especially intrinsically, the better. And this is what this night is about – our people,” he added.
St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited is the sole commercial generator, transmitter, distributor and seller of electrical energy in St. Lucia. Established in 1964, the Company has grown to become one of the most respected and efficiently run utilities in the Caribbean.
