Pure Doctrine:
The Biblical New Year
The Significance
of the Lord’s Supper New Testament and
Passover Old Testament
Biblical date: 17th

It
is very important for the children of God to
observe the Lord’s Supper (Old Testament
Passover). Many people are aware of this practice
and do it but are not aware as to why they do.
Matthew chapter 26 verse 26-28 reads “And
as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed
it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples
and said take, eat; this is my body. And he
took the cup and gave thanks, and gave it to
them saying, drink ye all of it: for this is
my blood of the New Testament, which is shared
for many for the remission of sins.” Jesus
is the Passover lamb which was sacrificed so
that we could receive forgiveness and pardon
from God for our sins. John 1:29 “The
next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and
saith, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away
the sins of the world.” Revelation 5:9
reads “And they sung a new song, saying,
thou art worthy to take the book, and to open
the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and has
redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every
kindred, and tongue, and people and nation.”
In return for his great love towards us, we
must observe the Lord’s Supper in its
appointed time and season. Luke 2: 41 tell us
that it was the custom of the Jews to do so.
It reads “Now his parents went to Jerusalem
every year at the feast of the Passover.”
It is clearly stated in the scriptures that
the Lord’s Supper is observed once a year
and not multiple times as some choose to do.
In Deuteronomy we are told the season of the
Lord’s Supper/ Passover which has never
been changed throughout the scriptures.
