International Accounting
Firm - Bdo - Opens Its Doors In St. Lucia
There
is a new player in the accounting services industry
in St. Lucia. It is called BDO, named after
its founders Binder, Dijker, Otto – 35
years ago. The company is one of the top five
accounting firms in the world and is growing
rapidly with presence in 1110 countries.
Its latest expansion is BDO Eastern Caribbean
with the local office headed by senior chartered
accountant and entrepreneur Brenda Williams
along with her team of professional financial
managers.
Brenda Williams established her accounting career
in England at the firm Arthur Andersen then
moved to St. Lucia where she worked with accounting
firm Coopers and Lybrand and eventually becoming
a founding member of Chase, Skeete and Boland.
Now she heads BDO St. Lucia, the only accounting
firm with a female at the helm.
Earlier this week members of the local business
and accounting fraternity were invited to the
official launch of BDO St. Lucia where they
had the opportunity to meet the BDO local team
as well as regional and international partners.
During her speech the head of BDO St. Lucia
noted that this was a proud moment for her and
staff. “We are happy and proud to be part
of the BDO family and more importantly we are
pleased to bring the world of BDO to our fledgling
society. Our current and potential clients can
expect the very best in professional audit and
financial accounting services delivered with
local care and attention and supported by a
strong international network,” said Williams.
Senior BDO Executive in the Caribbean and Managing
Partner of BDO Curacao Gerd Glaudemans see the
Eastern Caribbean presence as a seminal moment
in the expansion of the BDO network. “We
have always had a very solid foundation in the
Caribbean region with offices in British Virgin
Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Trinidad
and Tobago, Aruba, St. Marten and Curacao. This
presence in the Eastern Caribbean has truly
poised us for further growth and expansion and
we are very excited about this”, noted
Glaudemans.
