Chamber participates in two workshops

Key staff of The St. Lucia Chamber Of Commerce Industry and Agriculture recently took part in two intensive workshops under the themes International Trade Development, Clustering and Commercial Linkages Development. The workshops form part of the DECBO (Developing East Caribbean Business Organisations), which is an EU-PRO€INVEST supported Project. DECBO is designed to build institutional capacity amongst all partners with the ultimate objective of strengthening private sector opportunities nationally, regionally and internationally.
The DECBO partners are:
• Birmingham Chamber of Industry and Commerce
• Promofirenze A Special Agency of the Florence Chamber of Industry and Commerce
• The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• The St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture

 
 

The main objective of the DECBO project is to strengthen the capacity of Business Service Organisations, and improve trade relations amongst European and Caribbean countries through the use of workshops and secondments in Europe. An international conference will be held in Birmingham or Florence to promote the investment opportunities of each partner territory.
The first phase workshops were held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the NIS Conference room from July 26th-27th. A thorough and concise methodology was used to promote and demonstrate to partners the intricate workings of Commercial linkages and Clustering and International Trade Development Programmes. The 2nd phase workshops are scheduled for December in St. Kitts and Nevis under the themes Sustainable Services, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility. The project will conclude with a B2B event in the Caribbean islands.
