SMALL
BUSINESS CORNER
The
Industrial & Small Business Association (SLISBA) is forging
ahead to ensure that its members and businesspersons in general
are informed and educated to meet the challenges that confront
them. Information will be vital as they grapple to maintain
the viability of their businesses. Many times they are unaware
that help is on its way. SLISBA will host on Wednesday, 13th
February, 2008 its first Executive Business Luncheon Meeting
which will be held in the dining room of the Village Inn &
Spa at 12.30pm. This is an opportunity for businesspersons
to learn about the challenges of providing affordable ocean
freight and break bulk cargo. The impact of the European Partnership
Agreement (EPA) on businesses, especially MSMEs will also
be discussed. Reserve your seat to prevent disappointment

This is a time for MSMEs to stop being busy doing things in
the same old way expecting different results. This is the
age of networking. Networking is fueled by stepping out of
your business and meeting new people. Listen to what is happening
in your industry and others that are emerging. Enquire about
how you can get assistance. Try to find new sources of income.
The old recommendation was to diversify your business, today
it is to establish Multiple Sources of Income.
SLISBA
in its efforts to expand its services to the membership, appointed
to its staff an IT Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining
their website, research products and services on the web,
and service business email accounts and websites for members.
SLISBA will now provide Incubator type office services to
its membership. Members can establish email accounts that
will be maintained by SLISBA.
