Dance Mirage

Synopsis The production “Dance Mirage” is a Contemporary dance production which seeks to highlight the unique talents of St. Lucian dancers created in choreographic illusions using dance forms such as, modern dance, contemporary, hip hop, Ethnic African and Caribbean dance while exploring the movement in tasteful breathtaking moments.
Dance Mirage is staged in an urban setting revealing chronicles of urban life from the eyes of the Artistic Director Barry George. This production will also highlight the Journey of the Silver Shadow Dancers who have struggled for 21 years to stay alive in dance while they continue to advocate to be taken seriously as well as the performing arts.
The production “Dance Mirage” also seeks to highlight the amalgamation of ideas within the group and speaks of the fact that the very existence of dance is an illusion due to the fact that we are trying to create in an environment that ceases to exist. Through this production we are also advocating on behalf of a generation that believes in the arts and its evolution and are trying to seek employment in a traditionally unconventional industry.
Dance Mirage will be staged on Saturday 28th of January 2012 at 8 p.m. at the National Cultural Centre in commemoration of Nobel Laureate Week in celebration of the CDF’s national Arts Festival and St. Lucia’s Independence celebrations.
