T.D. Jakes To Make Historic Visit To St. Lucia

Renowned television evangelist, Bishop T.D. Jakes will be making an historic visit to St. Lucia in April with two scheduled appearances at the Pigeon Island National Landmark. The event is being put on by the International Men’s Network, the Government of St. Lucia and FAITH, a recently formed non-governmental body which stands for “Fighting Against Increasing Threats to Humanity.” President of the International Men’s Network, Barry Innocent says that the US based Jakes have been invited to the island in recognition of the need to respond strategically to social challenges facing Men, families and communities in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean.
“The social malaise of St. Lucia is quite dire and we at International Men’s Network believe that we have a crucial role to play. We need to reclaim our communities and make a contribution to restoring order, respect and love for our neighbours. This conference is one of the many initiatives that the International Mens’ Network is using to accomplish this feat,” explains Innocent.

Innocent says that the conference which is being held under the theme: “Empowering men, Empowering families, impacting communities” targets a wide spectra of the St. Lucian society. He made special mention of inmates of the Borderlaise Correctional Facilities and the Boys Training Centre.
The International Men’s Network President continues “we will be making arrangements to broadcast the conference to the inmates at Boderlaise so they can be reached. The Boys Training Centre boys will also be attending as we make attempts to resuscitate them.”
Earlier this week an incentive to purchase tickets by March 12 was announced allowing individuals who purchase by the said date to pay EC$50, and EC$150 following that. Tickets can be purchased at the offices of Bethel Tabernacle and other locations will later be announced.
