The Mothers
and Fathers Group of Anse La Verdure, Canaries
donated $ to St. Jude Hospital
The
Mothers and Fathers Group of Anse La Verdure,
quarter of Canaries donated the amount of E.C$2200.00
towards the reconstruction of the St. Jude hospital.
The Chairperson of the group, Ms. Leona Leonty,
was pleased to present the cheque to Mr. Percival
Mc Donald chairperson of the St. Jude Hospital
Board on Thursday December 10, 2009.
Ms. Leonty on presenting the cheque expressed
the hope that the reconstruction of the Hospital
would start as soon as possible to facilitate
normal operation of the institution, whose health
care services are vital for the Southern part
of the Island and in deed the whole Nation.
Mr. Mc. Donald on receiving the cheque expressed
sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of
the Government, the Board and staff of St. Jude
Hospital for the Community’s generosity
and concern for their fellow citizens. Mr. Mc
Donald emphasized the fact that the community
of Anse La Verdure would normally seek hospital
care services from Victoria Hospital being strategically
located to the community. Therefore, he was
particularly pleased to know that the community
was indeed sensitive to the fact the St. Jude
Hospital exist to provide health care services
to the Nation. Thus, any citizen or person within
the State has access to St. Jude Hospital’s
services in time of crisis or need and that
their contribution highlighted the need for
mobilization of the nation in the restoration
of St. Jude Hospital.
