Excellency At The Artsibit Gallery
The
Artsibit Gallery was privileged was privileged to be graced
by the Governor General Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy,
who took time of her busy schedule to view the gallery’s
contribution to the activities celebrating St. Lucia’s
nobel laureates, Derek Walcott and Sir Arthur Lewis. The exhibition
showcased the artwork of some of the islands finest painters
who created three dimensional images, paintings of many sorts
using a variety of media – oil, acrylic, watercolour
and colour pencil – to convey the impression of life,
in their genre.
Viewing each artist’s work you would certainly see the
beauty, the variety of subject matter and design elements
this exhibition offered. The quality and diversity of the
artists’ styles, ranging from representational to abstract
to realism, made it an exhibition for every collector. The
event which began on 21st January culminates on 8th February
2008 with contributions from a distinguished group of 15 artists.
