International
Biodiversity Day
Saint Lucia joins
the rest of the world in celebrating the International day
for Biological Diversity on Tuesday May 22nd, 2007. The theme
for this year is Biodiversity and Climate Change and this
is in keeping with the focus of the United Nations on Climate
Change for 2007. The theme is particularly appropriate, coming
in the wake of the recently released Fourth Assessment Report
of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The assessment
makes it clear that climate change is real, that it is driven
by human activity, and that, without action, its consequences
on natural systems and on society will be severe.

Lucian
Line Jam
Over the last
few years the phenomenon known as “Line Jam” stemmed
from a decision to host a pre – cursor to Carnival through
which all revellers would share a spirited jaunt on the official
circuit through the city under one banner.
Lucian Line Jam has grown immensely both in size and rewards
to its sponsors. The organisers have again set out to offer
Lucian Line Jam for Mas 2007.
