pleased with Sammy selection
Darren
Sammy’s selection unto the West Indies test squad for
the upcoming summer tour of England is most welcome news following
his non-selection on the World Cup squad. The efforts he has
made towards improving his game is testimony of his commitment,
and serves a a role model for all sportsmen and women in Saint
Lucia.

Over the years Jamaica has produced and is continuing
to produce world class athletes such as Arthur Wint, Donald
Quarry, Merlene Ottey, Sanya Richards, Deon Hemmings, Bridgette
Foster Hilton, 100-metre world record holder Asafa Powell,
and of course Yohan Blake.
Two
more greats celebrated
The
late Sir Clyde Walcott and Reverend Wes Hall were inducted
into the Sticky Wicket West Indies Cricket Hall of Fame on
Sunday May 6th 2007 at a glittering ceremony at the Stanford
Cricket Ground.
It was a huge party with performances by top regional artistes
Red Hot Flames, David Rudder, Destra and Grammy-award winner
Sean Paul which went into the early morning hours, and culminating
with a dazzling fifteen-minute fireworks display.
