Prime
Minister delegates him to attend Meeting of Gov’t Heads
in his stead.
Prime Minister the Hon Sir John Compton has
mandated the Minister of External Affairs the Hon
Rufus Bousquet to attend the summit meeting of Heads
of State and Government of CARICOM and SICA
scheduled for May 12, 2007 in Belize.
Belize presently holds the Presidency Pro-Tempore of the Central
American Integration System (SICA), 
Safety
of Food and Pharmaceuticals in Question
A call has gone
out to the authorities to observe even more closely imports
of food and pharmaceuticals entering the country following
reports that a trail of poisoned medicine has been discovered
which leads from China to Panama.
Andrew Antoine, former President of St. Lucia’s Consumer
Association this week questioned the ability of the authorities
in seeing to it that importations of food and medicines are
safe, not counterfeited and comes from recognized and approved
manufacturers.

Homicide Update:
A post mortem examination was
performed on the body of 22 year old Sheldon Javid Emmanuel
Elibox, of Marc, quarter of Castries, on Monday the 7th of
May 2007 and the result indicated that he died of Hemorrhagic
shock secondary to a gun shot wound.
Elibox was shot in the head by a mask man on Friday the 4th
of May 2007 about 8:20pm on Victoria Street, Castries. He
died on the scene. 
Rotary
set for Annual Motor Treasure Hunt

The Rotary
Club will host its Ninth Rotary Treasure Hunt across Saint
Lucia on Sunday May 20th, 2007. The starting point is the
Rodney Bay Marina, Gros-Islet.
The Rotary Club event is being championed by Rotary President
Elect, Dr. Azmina Long, with vehicle sponsorships by Renwick
& Co, as main sponsor.

Corinth was the recent winner of US $500 in the bmobile Daily
Cricket World Cup Trivia. He was one of several bmobile customers
throughout the Caribbean who won cash prizes, mobile phones
and Brian Lara-autographed bats in the Cricket Trivia promotion.
