ANOTHER GOV’T VAULT STOLEN

The seemingly impossible has happened…again. The Ministry of Justice has been the victim of another theft, not just any theft but the theft of an entire vault.
Police sources say the theft occurred between the night of Thursday May 3, and the morning of Friday, May 4 at the court office in the Monplaisir Building on Brazil Street. Staff discovered the safe was missing when the office opened that morning.

Two More Murders Bring Toll to Ten for ‘07

Police report that Saint Lucia recorded two murders over the weekend of May 4, bringing the number of murders for the year to ten. The murders occurred as the country opened Saint Lucia Jazz, its main tourism marketing event.
Assistant Commissioner in Charge of Crime Vernon François said in the wake of the murders that incidents of that nature are very sad as they make the country appear very barbaric and uncivilised.
