As night drew her exposing curtain, dividing her fragrant
personality from day’s brilliant personality, Orion,
the Hunter, sang a five chorus song to her. Venus saluted
in soothing welcome to her presence. I was found spectating
these events near a hillside’s anthem to night’s
star-studded presence. I became loaded with tons of thoughts

up to the end of the abolition of slavery our people were
being ‘screwed’ right left and centre. Many of
our young artistes are treated similarly today and remain
in bondage not having gained their ‘freedom’?

Day observances started in the United States on April 22nd,
1970 and quickly became a global observance. The remarkable
thing about Earth Day observances is that it is not being
coordinated or financed by any major organization. It started

Third Umpire
The Third Umpire,
written and directed by Gandolph St.Clair, dedicated to the
memory of Francis Mindoo Philip was staged on Sunday 15th
April as part of the Castries North Local Action Team events
for 2007 World Cup Cricket.
The neophyte actors, students of the Vide Bouteille Secondary
School were Marla Theodore as Jacky, Isha John as Sandra,
Melicia Popo as Indra, Curtis David as Tom, Jamal Aristide
as Jack, Merv Evans as Mike, Kervin Leonce as The Third Umpire,
Michael Solomon as Stage Manager. Assistant Director was Theatre
Arts Tutor Nadine Roberts.  |
