Caribbean
sports journalists to form grouping
Can
the Caribbean sports journalists take their game to another
level, and in the same breath, allow for greater appreciation
of the many sacrifices the region’s sportsmen and women
have made and are making?
During the February 27th – 28th Thinking Sports Symposium
which was held in Trinidad and Tobago at the Cascadia Hotel,
and attended by many of the region’s top sports journalists,
the idea which was being discussed quietly amongst the participants,
was brought to the fore.
Thrills
and spills in the water
Saint
Lucia’s first ever competitive kite surfing event literally
took off over the last weekend, with riders coming from eight
different countries to test their skills in the world class
conditions that the Island offers.
With both Freestyle and racing disciplines promising plenty
of action, the gathered crowd had enough to keep there eyes
focused on the water, at the Lonely Tree Beach in Vieux-Fort.

Second
opinion on autopsy sought Jamaican papers hint at strangulation
After
little apparent forward movement on Wednesday in the investigations
of Bob Woolmer’s death, Jamaican police officials began
questioning members of the Pakistani team on Thursday morning.
The questioning comes on the same day that two Jamaican newspapers
claimed that 58-year-old Woolmer, who died on Sunday, had
been strangled.
“We’re going through a process of speaking to
people, including members of the team,”
