Gov’t
to host Taiwanese Delegates
The Government
of China, through its embassy, has sent a strong protest letter
to the Government of St. Lucia on the latter’s preparations
to receive a Taiwanese delegation here, which includes Taiwan’s
Foreign Minister James Huang.
The Government of St. Lucia’s decision to meet with
the Taiwanese delegation in St. Lucia deepened the diplomatic
row that has erupted between the three countries, with the
Chinese Embassy here describing the visit as being inconsistent
with the principles in the Communiqué on the establishment
of Diplomatic Relations between China and St. Lucia.
