Loose
Lips Sink Pedalos?
“Drunk
‘n Sunk”, the headlines read, as the story exploded
in the international news. At the centre, six English cricketers
who decided to flout the rules, exciting nightlife on a hot
tropical island and a security guard who saved the day. Everyone
expected the ICC Cricket World Cup would put the country in
the international spotlight but no one expected it would be
quite like this - with news of one of the world’s greatest
cricket all-rounders rescued from the sea after falling off
a pedalo. That the incident happened mere hours following
England’s six-wicket defeat by New Zealand and one day
before the Group C game against Canada, made it all the more
newsy.

editorial the people of this country, demonstrated faith in
Sir John and his team when they voted them into office. They
took his word that he would administer their business in their
best interests.

Resist

in relations between Saint Lucia and the People’s Republic
of China:

and People.”
In a statement today, SLCFA President Earl Bousquet says the
“constant contact with the Taiwanese officials by top
government officials not only violates the basis on which
relations between Saint Lucia and the People’s Republic
of China are based, but also suggests that the government
speaks with two tongues on the matter of the future of diplomatic
relations with China.”
