WASCO
Employees to be terminated
The
Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) will terminate all its
employees or employment contracts by December 31st, 2008 to
make way for the new water company that will take over the
management of Saint Lucia’s water infrastructure.
Ben Emmanuel, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications,
Works and Transport made this announcement,

Shooting:
Lance Joseph of Nortre Dame Street, Gros Islet was shot by
two men known to him. He received one gun shot wound to his
upper left thigh and the other to his right buttocks. This
incident occurred about 12:30am on Saturday the 30th of August
2008, on St. John’s Street, Gros Islet. Investigation
is continuing.
