and approval however it is getting heavy rotation in the press
and is now becoming the subject of public discussion, as St.
Lucians try to come to terms with the change in plans.

Calls for One Air Space
Never
convinced that St. Lucia should invest in LIAT, Tourism Minister
Allen Chastanet now thinks that the LIAT and Caribbean Star
merger will not bring good news to intra regional travel.
Chastanet, who this week addressed tourism officials and business
executives at a Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry
seminar,

Easter Brightened Up
Last
week, the staff of Diamonds International got together to
pay a visit to their favorite cause – the children at
the Holy Family Children’s’ Home at Ciceron. The
staff got to meet the children, and spend a little quality
time with them. Whilst there, the group spread some Easter
cheer by donating a huge hamper that consisted of several
Frozen Hams,

for NCPD published
The
National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD)
is pleased to announce the publication of a second handbook
produced with the objectives of increasing public awareness
of the NCPD, and the services it provides, along
with raising funds through corporate advertizing for NCPDs
many activities. The handbook is titled,

Tourism
is about the visitors’ total experience of the island.
From the moment they arrive at the airport to when
they enter their hotel room or guesthouse, visitors are gauging
their experience of the island by the quality of service that
they receive at each point. The quality of
that hotel room, villa or guesthouse is an integral part of
the visitors’ overall experience. 
To
catch a thief!
The
pouring rain had barely ceased yesterday at about 8:30 am
when a young man appearing to be in his early twenties darted
off across Micoud street with two men in hot pursuit in the
vicinity of Access Dry Goods store. “Hold him,
hold that man,” they shouted in unison while some passersby
joined in yelling, “Thief,” in our vernacular.

Monday:
Final Day for SLBC
The
expected march on the headquarters of the St. Lucia Banana
Corporation (SLBC) yesterday by farmers to demand the dissolution
of the SLBC did not materialize, however the anxiety by employees
that Monday could be their last day at the Corporation was
