To
be a Bencher and a Judge
It
was my great pleasure to interview Judge John Samuels, Q.C.
a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn, while he visited me in St.
Lucia this past February. I met Judge Samuels at
a West Dean weekend, as part of the requirement for my dinners
with Lincoln’s Inn, in January 2000, and we have remained
friends ever since. His lovely wife Maxine, who has been a

THE
VIRTUES PROJECT – an NCF Contribution - LOVE
What
Is Love?
Love is a special feeling that fills your heart. You show
love in a smile, a pleasant way of speaking, a thoughtful
act or a hug. Love is treating people and things with special
care and kindness because they mean so much to you. Love is
treating other people just as you would like them to treat
you – with care and respect.
Needed:
an environmental performance incentive for Caribbean electric
utilities
The
facts about greenhouse gas emissions implicate the power sector
in a large part of the problem of climate change: the

famous Red Lane Spas, of which a number of young and budding
massage therapists learnt when Sandals Resorts in St Lucia
opened its Spa doors to them for a 2 week training programme.
Personality

that develop as they grow and practise them. If a
child’s natural talents are suppressed by a well-meaning
adult, that child will develop self-doubt and may have a long,
difficult road ahead of him/her overcoming that obstacle.
ACCESS
DENIED
St.
Lucian born Rogers Jean Baptiste said that he was utterly
astounded at the refusal of the British Home Office to grant
him British citizenship following his four year service in
the British army including two tours of Iraq. According
to reports Jean Baptiste was determined ineligible for citizenship
because he had submitted his application on the wrong date,

Winds
of Change Confront Caribbean Tourism
Reverend
A.R. Bernard, founder and CEO of the Brooklyn-based Christian
Cultural Center, the church home for thousands of Caribbean-Americans
in the tri-state area, teaches that “Change is the only
constant in life; And when change is necessary, not to change
is destructive.”
