Volleyball Championship
St.
Lucia will from this evening Thursday 27th March host the
2008 edition of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States
(OECS) Female Volleyball Championships at the newly built
indoor facility commonly known as “Cricket World Cup
Legacy” at Beausejour, Gros Islet. The tournament
which was postponed on two previous occasions,

Wins Fedee’s Cup
Despite
a last place finish in the opening soccerama of the tournament
and unconvincing performances in the earlier rounds, VSADC
was able to do just enough to win the inaugural Michael Fedee
Memorial Castries Big Four Tournament, on Saturday 22nd March
2008 at the Vigie playing field. VSADC entered their
game against home team Lancers FC,

2008 Independence DARTS Champs
The
curtains finally came down on the 2008 Independence Darts
Classic organized by the St. Lucia National Darts Association
in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports on
Saturday evening with an awards ceremony at the Police Auditorium.
Like it’s the norm nowadays in St.Lucia at
national sporting functions no ministry official was present,

National
Under-19 Cricketers Off to Grenada Today
The
St. Lucia under 19 Cricket Team defeated a Mabouya Valley
XI in a 40 overs per side match at the La Ressource Playing
field on Tuesday 25th March 2008. Batting first,
the Mabouya Valley XI amassed 261 all out in 39.3 overs. Significant
contributions with the bat came from Shane Harris 50, Kurt
Francois 43, Leroy James 39 and Dale Smith 37. 
St.
Lucia 2008 Carifta Swim Team Ready for Aruba
The
St. Lucia Carifta Swim Team completed their final group training
session on Saturday, 22nd March, at the Rodney Heights Aquatic
Centre, prior to flying to Aruba to compete in the 2008 Carifta
Swimming Championships scheduled to commence today Thursday
27th – 30th March. This year being an Olympic
year the meet will be a FINA qualifying meet,

Wins: But Awards and Closing Ceremony a No Show
Someone
should have mentioned earlier to Anse Ger Secondary that the
final of the Inter Secondary Volleyball Tournament would not
have been easy getting past St. Mary’s College on the
day as the Samarians came from one set down to win the championship
which to my mind was one of the better matches played in the
Tournament thus far.
