The
Fourth CARICOM – Spain Summit took place at the Moncloa
Palace, Madrid, Spain on Friday, 11th July 2008 against the
backdrop of the celebration of CARICOM Day at the World’s
Fair in Zaragoza, Spain on 12th July 2008. Caribbean

Senators
chided for Lateness
A
fifty minute late start to yesterday’s senate session
prompted the President of the upper House of Parliament to
chide senators for their late appearances. In what
could be regarded as a caution to senators to be on time for
senate sessions, Senator Dr. Hilda Rose Marie Husbands-Mathurin
told senators to be mindful that the senate sits at 10a.m.

ILF
cleans up Dennery Beach
Officially
established as of December 2004, the Imran Leon Fund (ILF)
was conceived of good intentions and the grief of young persons
residing in Dennery, who had lost a very good friend.
The fund, named after a young man who was considered a role
model in his community, aims not only to honor the life of
a friend who was killed in a car crash,
Blaise
Sets The Banquet Ablaze
St.
Lucian tenor Blaise Pascal gave an outstanding performance
last Friday night at a fundraising banquet hosted by the Salvation
Army at The Royal St. Lucian. Pascal, currently based
in California, flew into St. Lucia specifically for the charitable
event that was held to support the Salvation Army’s
“Meals On Wheels” programme. 
Mental
Evaluation for Murder Suspect
Police,
over the weekend charged a man, said to be mentally challenged,
for the murder of a 28 year old who died July 22nd, 2008 almost
two weeks after he was struck in the head with a stone.
Kevin Yoyo, 24 of Odsan was charged with murder following
an incident on July 9th, 2008 that put Aaron Clement in a
coma. 
CDC
Residents Say Security Is A Nightmare
Initially
the complaints came from three persons. On further investigation,
more came forward revealing their grievances with regards
the manner in which the security service for the CDC apartment
buildings on Darling Road conduct their business. Some
residents of the apartments say that they are fed up with
what they believe are undesirable elements,
