The
St.Lucia National Cricket Association will be hosting the
semi final and finals of the Courts Laurie Auguste Memorial
20/20 Women’s Cricket Competition this weekend at the
Beausejour Cricket Ground. The ‘big cricket
finals’ weekend strokes off today Saturday 26th July
2008 with the first semi final encounter from 10:30am,

Schools Get Boxing Association’s Attention
The
St.Lucia Amateur Boxing Association last week held a press
conference to sensitized members of the media as to the way
forward for the sport of boxing amongst the nations youth,
specifically for students attending Secondary Schools
on the island. Addressing the gathering at the Lime on the
Bay Restaurant in Rodney Bay SLABA President,

& Tobago Queens of Caribbean Volleyball
The
Republic of Trinidad & Tobago Volleyballers are still
queens of the Caribbean. The girls from the land
of the hummingbirds retained the crown which they had won
in the Bahamas in 2006 defeating host country Barbados, 22-25,
25-15, 25-22, and 25-17. Standout player Kelly Ann Billingy
repeated as MVP and she earned the Best Attacker award.
Local
SLOC under Fire for Beijing Selection
At
a press conference held by the St.Lucia National Olympic Committee
at Auberge Seraphine Hotel on Thursday to disclose St.Lucia’s
participation at this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing,
China, the St. Lucia Swimming Association (SLASA)
took the opportunity to state for the record that it is not
in agreement with the selection of the swimming participants,
