a USATF Sanctioned meet in San Diego to do a last minute qualifying

Cricket
Championship Up for Grabs this Weekend
With
the carnival fever up 60 notches and weather permitting the
Gros Islet Playing Field will be the venue for the 2008 Coca
Cola Mindoo Phillip Premier League final between arch rivals
Mon Repos and South Castries. Officiating at what
is expected to be an entertaining encounter between the two
sides are former cricketers and now umpires Francis Maurice
and Denis Ryan. 
Another
Successful Martial Arts Explosion Held
On
Sunday 13th of July 2008, martial artistes from all over St.
Lucia gathered at the National Cultural Centre to participate
in what is called Best of the Best II 2008 Martial Arts Championship.

Valiant Attempt to Qualify for Beijing 2008
St.Lucia
Athletics Association has selected a three member delegation
to represent the island at the North America, Central America
and Caribbean (NACAC) Under 23 Track and Field Championship
to be held in Mexico. The three day Championship
started on Friday 18th and will run until Sunday 20th July
2008.

Referee for CONCACAF Assignment
Former
national athlete and experienced St.Lucia female referee Sabina
Charles is set to become the first female from the island
of St.Lucia to officiate in a major football tournament under
the CONCACAF banner when she steps unto the playing area in
Trinidad and Tobago between 17th and 26th of July 2008. Charles,
a member of the St.Lucia National Referee’s Association,
