independent forensic audit has cleared Eustace Monrose, Chairman
of the St. Lucia Banana Corporation (SLBC) and his Board of
wrongdoing regarding the $3.6 million given to the SLBC by
the Windward Islands Banana Development and Exporting Company
((WIBDECO). Monrose and his Board have been under
pressure from a faction of banana farmers,

Lucia sees 6% increase in visitor arrivals in June
Preliminary
figures released by the St Lucia Tourist Board show that the
number of tourist stopover arrivals, The number of visitors
from the USA grew by 8.7%, from 11,148 in June 2007 to 12,121
this June. Arrivals from Canada showed a good 90%
increase from 533 in June 2007 to 1,017 this June. The number
of visitors from the United Kingdom showed a 4.0% increase,

last Thursday night in their quest to reign as 2008 Inter-Commercial
House Calypso Monarch. And what a show that was!
The massive crowd comprised mainly members of staff of the
various business houses that fielded candidates for the competition
who came to lend moral support.
