China
and Russian veto re Zimbabwe very disturbing
China
and Russia together have sent a terrible signal to democracy
by their latest veto in support of Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe.
We in this part of the world have shown great support
for China despite its questionable human rights record for
various reasons and the most prominent being its vast population
in excess of one billion persons.
Water
privatization-wisdom or folly?
In
Tuesday’s issue of The VOICE, Communications Director
of the Civil Society Network Andrew Antoine, in an excerpt
from a letter to the Minister of Communications, Hon. Guy
Joseph wrote: “We strongly urge you to delay

The
Government of St. Lucia headed by Prime Minister Stephenson

Crooks & Ministers

No wonder Sir John Compton has left us to battle with these
persons who we call ministers of government. It is
indeed sad that what passes for a United Workers Party government,
a party which always stood for honest government has now found
itself in criminal and unscrupulous behavior,
Prosecute
Mondesir
The
St. Lucia Labour Party is disgusted by the decision of the
UWP Cabinet to protect Dr. Keith Mondesir from possible prosecution
by the Customs Department for breach of the Tourism Incentives
Act, Chap.15.30, Laws of Saint Lucia. On July 5,
2007 the Cabinet of Ministers granted Tuxedo Villas certain
Duty Free concessions,
