not Unhappy at EPA, says Banana Chief
Bernard
Cornibert, managing director of the Windward Islands Banana,
Development and Exporting Company (WIBDECO) last week said
that the company is not unhappy at the Economic Partnership
Agreement (EPA) signed last month between Caribbean Community
countries and the European Union. Cornibert was
at the time calling on an online news service called “Fresh
Info” to clarify a misquote, attributed to him by the
online news service.

charged for Rape
Police
are currently investigating allegations of rape of a nineteen-year-old
female officer attached to the sub-fire station at Vigie,
Castries. The suspect, a twenty-nine-year-old fireman,
from Despin, Dennery was charged on Tuesday January, 29, 2008
for the alleged violation. Unconfirmed reports indicate that
the incident occurred at the sub-station barracks while the
victim was asleep,

Shooting
at Jn. Baptiste Street
Two
men, namely: Glen Pierre of Beausejour, Gros Islet and Glen
Anatole of La Clery, Castries, were shot at on Tuesday night
about 9:35pm, on Jn. Baptiste Street, Castries, by an unknown
individual while in their vehicle which was parked outside
KFC on Jn. Baptiste Street. The vehicle’s registration
number is PD 4476.
