held by the Department of Youth and Sports as the 6 nominees

St.
Lucia Pro Team by all and sundry is one to watch as they begin
their campaign in the 2008 Stanford Twenty20 Tournament which
bowls off in Antigua and Barbuda later this evening. The
local boys are one of the four Pro Teams participating. They
are being led by internationally acclaimed coach Roger Harper
which makes them favorites against Cayman Islands,

Sports TV (Channel 51) begins testing
With
a number of sporting activities planned by the various sporting
associations for this year the action will be carried on Saint
Lucia’s first-ever sports television channel “OneStopSports”
Channel 51 on Cablevision which began testing early this week.
According to reliable information reaching this media house,
the channel is in the “soft launch” stage, and
with plans for rapid growth,

Local Netball Train Fully Loaded
The
St. Lucia National Netball Association will for the first
time hold a meeting with all individuals called up for trials
for the respective national netball teams - under
23 and Senior National, on Tuesday 29th January 2008 commencing
at 6:00 pm at the Department of Youth & Sports Conference
Room situated at Barnard Hill.

Soufriere
Comprehensive Secondary School secured a berth in the finals
of the Under 16 Schools Football Tournament when they defeated
George Charles Secondary 4 – 3 on penalties. George
Charles dominated the entire encounter but as the saying goes,
goals and catches win matches. Cuthbert Ernest opened the
scoring for George Charles in the 28th minute, 
Cruisers
leave St. Lucia on World Tour
A
fleet of some 36 yachts sailed out of Island Global Yachting’s
Rodney Bay Marina Wednesday, to take part in a novel international
event. It is called World ARC 2008 and is being organized
by World Cruising Club (WCC), the British-based organization
which organizes the annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers which
ends at the marina.

Caribbean Images Consultant on Tuesday 21st January 2008 held
a press conference with media personnel to enlighten them
on the progress made so far pertaining to St. Lucia National
Football Team participating in the World Cup Qualifiers against
Turks and Caicos on February 6th 2008.
Hectic
Weekend as AA Stage ROT and Cross Country
The
St. Lucia Athletics Association will on Saturday 26th January
2008 commencing at 10:00 am in the Town Gros Islet stage its
annual Right on Track programme for all young and aspiring
athletes between the ages 8 –14 years as it continues
to prepare for its hectic schedule of events on the 2008 athletic
calendar. Saturday’s event which came into
effect in 2005 is expected to harness the talents in the various
communities,
