EXHIBITION
An
appreciative gathering turned out at the Alliance Francaise
on Tuesday 22 January to witness the one man exhibition put
on by internationally renowned painter Cedric George. Dubbed
“Organometrix and Friends” the inspiring display
scheduled to last till January 31, is part of Nobel Laureate
Week, which kicked off on Sunday January 20, 
Monroe
College opens
Seventy
five years after its founding, Monroe College officially opened
its campus on Barnard Hill in Castries on January 22, 2008.
The College which has been established in New York
since 1993 boasts 8, 000 undergraduates and graduate students
on 4 campuses and has been offering Bachelor Degree programs
in St Lucia from September 2007.

On
Sunday the 20th of January 2008, about 5:40pm, two British
nationals viz: Siobhan Foustina Ryan, 24 years and
Corinne Elicha Dee, 22 years, were arrested at the Hewanorra
International Airport while attempting to leave for London
on Virgin Atlantic Flight No: 032 with 900 grams of cocaine
each concealed in a girdle on their person. They cleared security
and were in the departure lounge,

January
20, 2008 marked the island’s third homicide for the
year. Dead is Yan Barthelmy alias Spragga alias Fathead of
Trois Piton. According to news reports, on that fateful
day, the victim had just left a party at Trouya in the northern
part of the island during the wee hours of Sunday morning
and was heading for his vehicle which was parked on the roadside,

in the ketchup?
With
the hike in price in almost every product on the market these
days, consumers are beginning to become more conscious about
the food items that they purchase. Some consumers
have reported finding maggots around the mouth rim of a sealed
bottle of Swiss Tomato Ketchup purchased at a well-known supermarket
in Castries.
