TO THE NATION
With
the advent of this festive season, it was not unexpected but
nevertheless surprising that the volume of commercial activity
seems as robust as mall traffic would suggest. Our
spending habits are in overdrive and the culture of consumerism
is obviously alive and well. For a moment, and only a brief
moment, I entertained the possibility that the looming reality,

quietness of the night was suddenly broken by a resounding
detonation during the wee hours of the morning of December

Mondesir, a.k.a. Lion I, Minister for Trade, Industry and
Commerce Guy Mayers’ benevolence during the Christmas
season was a labour of love.

Departure
Tax Increases
Departure
tax at airports has been increased by almost 100 per cent
for nationals.
And the hassle travelers encounter of having to get monies
to pay departure tax after being processed at an airline counter
prior to leaving the country is now something of the past.
The aforementioned are part of St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports
Authority (SLASPA) efforts at making its operations more efficient,
according to Peter Jean, Director of Airports.
