LA WENN, VIVE LOUWA!
On
Thursday 21st February 2008, the La Wenn Ek Louwa Kweyol were
presented with gifts of appreciation for their participation
in the La Wenn Kweyol celebration which took place in October
of 2007. Thursday’s event was organized by
the Folk Research Centre situated at Morne Pleasant and commenced
at 2:30pm. The La Wenn Kweyol activity is a prominent feature,

Burglars
in Rock Hall
There
is an apparent escalation of house-breakings in the Rock Hall
area, and the residents are expressing much frustration with
that situation. One resident complained that when
he returned from work on Friday this week, he found his apartment
empty. He said that all his electronic appliances, including
his television set, DVD and his computer had been stolen among
other items.

up those cylinders
With
the recent increase in LPG and other petroleum products consumers
are not about to accept anything less than their money’s
worth for these products. Lately there has been quite
a buzz about the quantity of cooking gas contained in the
20lb and 100lb cylinder of cooking gas and the suppliers will
be under scrutiny of the Bureau of Standards.

The
Ministry of Agriculture in St Lucia, in a cooperative effort
with the National Feed Mills of Trinidad and Tobago, will
host a workshop for poultry farmers in Rodney Bay on February
26, 2008 and in Vieux-Fort on February 27, 2008. Approximately
130 participants have registered to attend the seminar. The

Yachting
sector looking for more support
General
Manager of Rodney Bay Marina Mr. Cuthbert Didier says that
while he is happy with the strides being made by the yachting
sector in St. Lucia, the island still had a long way to go.
Didier reiterated earlier calls for a more positive attitude
towards yachting by the various agencies of the government
that deal with tourism and marine matters.
