Time Marches On........

When I read the news of Mr. Walcott’s resignation from the Chair of the St.Lucia Labour Party, the phrase ‘time marches on’ kept filtering in and out of my consciousness like some distant memory worthy of recollection. I therefore felt compelled to say farewell to ‘Chairman Mao’ - as he was christened by his early detractors - and to do so in my own words.

The organisation of the courts

In my view, the overriding objective of the courts in any jurisdiction is high-quality justice; the pursuit of fairness through local procedures; and adjudication designed to ensure that all parties have the opportunity to have their case (s) heard in court. In very broad strokes, I will discuss the nature of five of the main courts in the criminal and civil courts:
