Developmental Challenge

Intellectual and spiritual development comprise two areas of human advancement which must be attained, if humans are to experience a fulfilled existence during our short span here on Earth. Both in the individual and national contexts, developmental achievement and attainment in these realms of life are crucial to fullest wellbeing.

The Shoemaker, the Jamette and the Barber (Part ii)

A hard day’s night, this Saint Lucia; humorless, maddening as hell, defiant in its half-made-ness, the split personality turned inside out. Yesterday, the collective behaviour resembled Mr. Haywood’s; today, more like the jamette’s. Thanks, Elizabeth, for the correction. The place is near redeemed by the presence of those like you who still wish to see,

Trinidad Carnival revisited

For as long as I can recall there has been disagreement, discomfort, even hostility by certain sections of Trinidad society to the annual pre-lenten bacchanal called carnival. The Principal, Ms. Joan Hippolyte has indicated that “this will definitely make the daily disbursement of various documentations much easier”.

Cameras in court?

“In loving memory of my grandfather George Durant Glasgow, who passed away on Ash Wednesday at age 93. May his soul rest in peace.” In larger countries like the USA, having cameras in the courtroom appears to act as an educational and informative tool for the administration of justice.

Child Discipline

Parents are often annoyed by a child’s behaviour when he is only acting his age. Some behaviour that is hard to live with is typical of most children that age. For example, young children have a great deal of energy and need to be active. If parents realize how hard it is for a young child to sit still and be quiet, they arrange for the child to use up his energy in a way that does not irritate them.

Copyright systems by nature fulfill two basic human rights; first, that of being recognized for your creation and, secondly, being compensated for use of your work. High achievers in the creative field are called, for example, a ‘Star’, ‘Maestro’, ‘Genius’, ‘Gifted’ and other terms of endearment.

THE VIRTUES PROJECT

What Is Honor?
Honor is living with a sense of respect for what you believe is right. It is living by the virtues, showing great respect for yourself, other people, and the rules you live by. When you are honourable, you don’t have to feel ashamed of who you are or what you are doing. You are worthy of respect. You set a good example.
