responds to Bousquet’s request for dismissal letter
Prime
Minister Stephenson King has responded to a request from former
Foreign Affairs Minister Rufus Bousquet to produce his letter
of dismissal from the Cabinet, saying that the letter is in
the possession of the Governor General and only the Head of
State could release it. Former Foreign Affairs Minister
Rufus Bousquet had written to Prime Minister King,

Dr.
James Hepple, Marketing Consultant to the St Lucia Tourist
Board, was honoured last Monday evening in New York in front
of 1,000 travel industry sales and marketing executives when
he received his award for making the ‘Hot List’
of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s
(HSMAI) “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales &
Marketing” for 2007.

In Science: Investing In The Future
The
Ministry of Education and Culture has begun preparations for
the hosting of the National Schools Science Fair from Tuesday,
18th to Thursday, 20th March 2008 at the George Odlum National
Stadium in Vieux Fort. Last year over 100 schools
participated in the Fair, which saw over 100% increase in
participation of schools over the previous year. 
St.
Lucia Music Awards Nominees Announced
The
list of artistes to receive awards in the first ever St. Lucia
Music Awards slated for February 29th was announced on Friday.
A collection of local musicians, sponsors and news
media gathered at the National Cultural Centre, to bring an

12:30am on Saturday the 2nd of February 2008, two brothers
namely: Claude John aka “Ross” of Barre St. Joseph
and Lawrence Rawlins of the same address were involved in
an altercation at Barre St. Joseph. As a result
of the altercation, Claude John dealt his brother Lawrence
John a few cutlass lashes on his arm. 
Earthquake
Confirmed
The
Seismic Research Unit has confirmed an earthquake northeast
of Saint Lucia. On Saturday night 2nd February at
9:04 local time, an earthquake occurred about just east of
Saint Lucia. The preliminary location for the event is 13.95°N
60.86°W. The event was reported as felt in Saint Lucia.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.

Lucia Music Awards are guests of Barbados Music Awards
Local
marketing communications firm Accela Marketing along with
the Hewanorra Musical Society (HMS), were guests at the recently
held Barbados Music Awards, (BMA) in the person of Accela’s
