ODI’s This Weekend
The
St.Lucia National Cricket Association following on its successful
hosting of the 2008 West Indies Senior Women Cricket Tournament
which ended last weekend and saw Jamaica for the first time
in the Tournament’s history emerge as champions, will
today recommence its 50 overs knockout competition. Weather
permitting and following last weekend,

Lucia Represented At the Caribbean Chess Competition
The
Third Annual Caribbean Chess Carnival successfully staged
by the Trinidad and Tobago Chess Federation saw a number of
competitors representing their various islands Barbados, Jamaica,
Suriname, United States Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago
and St. Lucia among others in stiff competition.

Digicel,
proud sponsor of West Indies Cricket, has applied for an injunction
before the High Court in London in respect of the proposed
Stanford 20/20 event to be held between England and the West
Indies in Antigua on 1 November 2008. The injunction
is being sought so as to protect Digicel’s rights pending
a full hearing of the dispute before an Arbitrator,

Laba Action commences Tomorrow
The
buildup to the 4th annual celebration of Creole Heritage Month
in St. Lucia begins this weekend with the official opening
of the 2008 Bounty National Woule Laba Competition.
This year’s event is scheduled for the village of Dennery
from 10:00 am, cricket enthusiast coming to support the event

Youth and Sports Workshops
The
Ministry of Social Transformation, Youth and Sports in collaboration
