On
13th September 2008, the Indigenous People (Bethechilokono)
of Saint Lucia will have much to celebrate as they join five
hundred million (500 million) counterparts world-wide in the
observance of the first anniversary of the adoption of the
United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Marryshow to King
History
indicates that the late Theophilus Albert Marryshow of Grenada
devoted considerable time and energy fighting for “closer
union”, repeatedly advocating that the “West Indies
must be West Indian.” The late Eric Gairy continued
along that path, promoting the concept of Federation and was
among the first signatories to the Treaty of Chaguramus.

are putting together final preparations for the first day
of the new semester on Monday, September 1st. While

Health Sciences University, School of Medicine has a new management
which will take the school to a higher level than it is.
This assurance was given by President of the school, Dr. Addabada
C. Rao, while addressing the Basic Sciences Graduation Ceremony
on Wednesday at which 22 students graduated. The momentous

assists the St. Lucia Crisis Centre
Mr.
Kegan Cox, Manager of DIGICEL on Friday, August 22, 2008 donated
a fax machine, desk top and hand held cell phone to the Saint
Lucia Crisis Centre at a brief handing over ceremony at the
SLCC’s offices on Chaussee Road. Ms. Leona
Sandra Phillip – Murray, Director of the Crisis Center
received the equipment on behalf of the Board of Directors,
