sharing the West Indies Senior Women’s Tournament providing
that they win their final match versus Barbados today. Chasing
141 for victory in 50 overs the Vincentians ended on 141/

U- 21 Football
After
an overwhelmingly positive feedback from the youth, the Mabouya
Valley Youth and Sports Council is hosting its inaugural Under
21 Football Competition. It’s on with the vision
of developing the youth in the football arena and preparing
them for greater opportunities for the future. The Youth and
Sports Council is sponsoring this historical competition,

Youth Football Team Talented all over
Gros
Islet Youth Football team known for its burgundy colors hosted
the Alma Parris School of Barbados in two football friendlies
played at the Gros Islet Playing Field. The “six
a side” small goals competitions were played on Thursday
with Gros Islet winning the first match - up on penalties
after a 5 - 5 draw and at the weekend Barbados’ team
turned the tide around,

Amid
calls for the West Indies team to be relegated to a lesser
division, the eighth annual Sandals Cricket Academy has been
hailed as a demonstration of what needs to be done, to reposition
the once mighty West Indies to the glory days. Speaking

Gros Islet senior football team comprehensively defeated Babonneau
4 – 0 in a one-sided affair at the Marchand playing
field in the St.Lucia Football Association District Football
Tournament for 2008. The encounter which was played
earlier on in the week in front of a small but appreciative
crowd saw the boys from the north of the island,

Newcomer Named on National Squad
St.Lucia
National Cricket Association Secretariat has released the
names of the 14 senior cricketers to represent St. Lucia in
the 2008 Windward Islands Senior Cricket Tournament to be
played in the Commonwealth of Dominica commencing Sunday 7th
- Friday 17th September. 13 out of the 14 players
selected have in the past represented St.Lucia,
Exciting
U-13 Cricket
The
2007 Defending champions Trinidad and Tobago continue their
winning ways as they notched up their second win of the 2008
St. Kitts & Nevis 13 and Under Invitational Cricket Tournament
when they easily defeated Montserrat at Warner Park.
Batting first Montserrat was routed for a paltry 63 runs in
22 overs, with Shawn Tuitt and Oswald Murrain,
