is a ‘Power of Attorney’?
In
this article, I will look briefly at one of the notarial documents
(documents signed and sealed by a notary royal, lawyers in
St. Lucia are also notaries royal) handled routinely by lawyers,
called a ‘power of attorney’. A ‘Power
of Attorney’ must be in writing. It is a legal instrument
which gives one individual the authority to act on behalf
of another individual,

Twelve
year old Brittany Tamica Henry of Labayee will not have to
pay for her school books, school uniforms and what ever she
may need for the upcoming new school year, which starts next
month thanks to the St. Lucia Workers Credit Union.

SCHOOL IN CRISIS
Come
September, girls who have been successful in the 2008 Common
Entrance and are scheduled to attend the St. Joseph’s
Convent will not be attending classes at the main building
situated at Cedars. It seems that the school will
have to extend its educational facility to the Girls Vocational
School in Leslie Land, an area already notorious for criminal
activities.

Soufriere
Foundation donates to Yaticka Youth Group
On
Friday the 22nd of August the Yaticka youth group of Soufriere
will be leaving St.lucia to represent the island at ‘Carifesta
10’ in Guyana. For the first time Carifesta
will have an edutainment component to it hence the invitation
from the Carifesta Secretariat. That aspect of Carifesta is
being facilitated by the President’s Youth Award:

The
Saint Lucia Labour Party calls on UWP Government to stop the
sale of the Queen’s Chain to hotel developers.
The Cabinet Conclusion No.602 of June 26 2008. Cabinet agreed.”
