spite of heavy rain minutes before the 10:00 a.m. start and
a middle order collapse, the Barbados women’s
cricket team registered their second successive victory in
the 2008 Senior Women Cricket Tournament being played in St.Lucia
as they defeated St.Vincent and the Grenadines by 4 wickets
at the Beauchamp Playing Field in Ti Rocher, Micoud on Sunday.
As
the curtains came down on the 2008 Este For 4 Basketball Tournament
on Sunday evening’s double header Felix McKenzie exploded
with 41 points to lead the Vieux - Fort All Stars to a 80
– 50 win over the Coco Cola Magics as they secured the
3rd place silverware. Kevin Lesporis had a game high
24 points, with 12 re-bounds for the Magics in a losing effort.

J Northern United and Gri-Gri Pi Lotein from the French island
of Martinique had to settle for a 1 - 1 draw on Saturday afternoon
in a friendly football encounter played at the Corinth Playing
Field. The afternoon saw a handful of supporters
from both sides taking in the action as the two teams were
pretty well impressive on center stage.
